Heritage Open Days 2023

July 23, 2023 |

Hello everyone, that time of the year is fast approaching as we look to opening the Chatterley Whitfield site for tours as part of Heritage Open days 2023.

This year we will be open on the following weekends, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September and Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September 2023. We are looking at putting of 5 tours per day starting at 10am, 11am, 12 noon,1pm and 2pm. With the cooperation of Stoke on Trent City Council we will be using the well established safe route taking you past the Institute, Platt and Hesketh heapstands. Hopefully we can still get access to the Lamp House and new this year the Weigh Bridge.

We still have the Heritage Centre and Remembrance Garden where you can find mock ups of underground workings. In addition we have exciting news in that we have after 10 years of asking managed to access building 30 which houses a number of large artefacts removed from the Underground Experience when it was demolished in 2006/07.
