Membership Secretary – Barry Ashley
Local man, born and bred in Smallthorne. I have been a member of Chatterley Whitfield Friends since 2015 and was attracted to the site by childhood memories and my love of local history. I stewarded my first Heritage weekend in 2016 and have since become a committee member then membership secretary and more recently a Trustee. I am also a keen photographer so any visit to the site is a photo opportunity.
As a local historian I run a Smallthorne History website with over a million visits.
I am also a Poet and have written several books of poetry with proceeds going to local good causes.
In between my work and family commitments I enjoy time at Chatterley working with a great bunch of people and making some great friends. As a group we have achieved a lot with some tremendous individual contributions to the cause.
At our last Heritage open weekends I was able to meet and greet every visitor and enjoyed learning new facts as well as listening to the positive feedback from the site tours.
I look forward to meeting you all soon.
