Visitor feedback from the 2024 Heritage Open Days festival, and feedback from our event received from Historic Open Days.
Very interesting site and knowledgeable guides.
I enjoyed the tour, staff were interesting and had history related to the site. I was surprised how much we were able to see
Very informative visit the volunteers were very passionate and informative about the site and what they would like to happen with it in the future to let more people visit safely. The areas we could visit had information plaques as well as the volunteers telling us about it.
I always look forward to visiting this site on Heritage Open Days because the site is unique and the work of the volunteers is not praised enough!
Very interesting visit led by very knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers . The tour was much longer and in more depth re site and information really enjoyed the morning and went away with more knowledge and understanding of the part of social history.
Honestly it was so good. The volunteers guiding the tours were so informative. I learned so much about mining that I never knew. It was clear the volunteers were knowledgeable and passionate and on my tour there were older ex miners who shared their experiences. It was incredible to see such history just a shame the weather was terrible.
This visit gave a fascinating insight into the complex and ever-changing coal mining industry in Staffordshire in previous times.
Very informative as my grandfather used to work there and I was slightly out of touch after his retirement.
